Learn code and embedded electronics in Java script using micro:bit. The micro:bit platform is a microcontroller with a display and several advanced sensors as well as bluetooth communications. Students will be learning and experimenting with state of the art equipment and techniques. But don't be scared it is all supported by a graphical user interface in which anyone can learn to code. Students can seamlessly move between text coding with Java script or graphical block coding. Suitable for beginners age 7+ as well as advanced coders of any age.
COMPUTER REQUIREMENT: You will need to have a computer available that can access MAKECODE for micro:bit and have a USB connection to download code to your bit.
HARDWARE RENTAL: We have assembled kits with all the parts you need for this workshop. They are available for weekly rental at a nominal fee.
